This is a face charged with a wild vitality that is symbolized by the green, vitality of a person who does not willingly submit to pre-established rules, but prefers to make his own. The gaze is penetrating on one side but very deep on the other, there is an eye that is a well and one that is a spring, so there is a balance between the two. I've used many colors and I have tried to harmonize them in such a way that there is an eloquent mixture of the latter. Many virtues of the painter are reduced to how to make the colors fit together that allow a narrative very complete, but in such a way that this narrative is consistent and does not result in a "Harlequinade". In the background is painted a three-decker vessel that often appears behind Mr. Saylor during his interviews and that I have reinterpreted in my own way.
