I’ve always wanted to go to Norway, and a couple years ago I got the opportunity. I decided to bring an old camera with me to really experiment with shooting on film for the first time, and these turned out to be some of my favorite images from the trip.

On the boat from from Tromso to Lofoten, I was struck by these perfect little homes, in the middle of a pristine and untamed wilderness. When I saw the birds gliding overhead, I wanted to capture the balance of roots and wings.

These photos are really different from my signature style, and I was never quite sure what to do with them, or where they might be most appreciated, but now I find myself at a point of clarity with a recent confluence of events.

First, an animal rescue in Costa Rica reached out to me looking for help with raising funds to feed and shelter their animals, then I found out the homes of two people very close to me are in foreclosure, including my mother’s home, each of which spoke to me ostensibly of the concept of shelter and freedom— roots and wings.

All of that, combined with the desire to show some support for this platform, and an idea I’ve had for awhile to price a trio of images with variations on 69, led me here.

My goal for this collection is to donate 25k to the animal rescue, get both homes out of foreclosure, and hopefully have enough left over so I can focus on my art for the next year without having to take commissions.

I have both high hopes and no expectations
