They say, in dreams, cityscapes can represent hidden aspects of the self. Power and influence, and an overwhelming undercurrent of movement reside within the streets of the “Nocturnal Watcher”.

I am an Indonesian artist who specializes in vector illustration and has been creating since 2008. My journey in art began as I searched for something new and exciting to break up what can often be the mundanity of everyday life. My works encapsulate feelings of awe and wonder through various color palettes, shapes, and subjects – often including human figures, animals, fictional beings, and architectural structures. Some of my greatest inspirations include Charley Harper and M.S. Escher.

Like Escher, there is some question of orientation in this piece. There is a blend of intimate presence placed throughout an urban landscape. The owl's piercing eyes and majestic presence exude a sense of mystery and wisdom, while the surrounding architecture highlights the beauty and complexity of and order found in cityscapes. It's a portrayal of the harmonious relationship between nature and the constructed environment.

Upon waking from the dream, you can only take with you some of what you had. The feeling of this piece, lives fully, in dreams.
