ENGELPEPE (Series 22, Card 17) was created by the legendary artist Hibiki (響) and is the only Rare Pepe card that he created; however, he is also responsible for creating the infamous crypto tattoo set on the MemoryChain & Oasis Mining project.

The artist incorporated Otaku culture with an angel pepe girl theme, giving birth to ENGELPEPE on July 6, 2017 with an issuance of 300. On September 29, 2021 he burnt 200 leaving 100 in circulation, some of which currently sit in dormant wallets.

Hibiki named the card ENGELPEPE because he thought (Engel) [éɪndʒəl] would be too playful.
