The first, the Alpha, and the genesis of an incredible project that established pepes lives on the blockchain.

It was a cool crisp day in early September 2016, when Mike entered the Counterparty telegram chat and announced his project. His idea was to place the most rare and dank pepes onto the Bitcoin blockchain using the Counterparty protocol.

He began selling his pepes on the DEx (Decentralized Exchange), listing RAREPEPE first, followed by GOXPEPE (warding off the first fakerare found on BTT), and then SHITCOINCARD. The DEx showed 300 RARPEPE listed, 150 for 1.5 XCP and an additional 150 for 3.0 XCP (1XCP = $3.27). By the end of the day, all were gone and the voyage began.

The rare pepe foundation was soon formed and proper scientists were recruited to start the delicate process of certifying cards ensuring the highest degree of dankess. Once certified, each card was then added to the rarepepedirectory.com and the rest is history.
