The North America Nebula also known as NGC 7000 is an emission nebula in the constellation of Cygnus. The shape of the nebula resembles the continent of North America, complete with a prominent Gulf of Mexico.
In 1890, the pioneering German astrophotographer Max Wolf noticed this nebula’s characteristic shape on a long-exposure photograph and called it the North America Nebula.
The North America Nebula covers a region more than 10 times the area of a full moon. The portion of the nebula resembling Mexico and Central America is known as the Cygnus Wall.
This is my take on a SHO image using a dual band narrowband filter.

"Colours Of Space" is the culmination of over 70 hours of gathered data that has been calibrated, stacked and processed over several months. Lots of pre-planning, cold late nights capturing the night sky (and failed nights)and processing the data has been all worth it when I look back at this collection.
All these images are captured using my own telescope and dedicated astronomy camera from my back garden here in Scotland. All the data has been carefully processed and curated by myself.
