  • I moved to Nashville in 2016 with my girlfriend I'd been with for 4 years. She got a job as an E.R. nurse, I came to pursue music. We moved into a two-bedroom apartment together and life was great. I was chasing my dreams and lived with the woman that I planned on spending my life with. After a few years without having any real success as an artist/songwriter, she asked me one day after a long stressful shift at the hospital, "How long are you going to chase this for?" I answered "as long as it takes"... which was and still is my truth.
  • After that conversation everything changed. She changed. She wanted security, and I wasn't it. Our relationship started to suffer. That's when Baltimore called. She got offered a 3 month travel nursing assignment to move to Baltimore. She would be able to pay off her student loans and it would also give us a little space, maybe just what we needed.
  • A few weeks later she packed up her car, gave me a kiss goodbye, and headed off to Baltimore. Little did I know that it would be the last time we would kiss, and the last time I would see her. After she got there, she didn't answer my texts or calls. Our relationship was over. It became clear that she had made her decision to end our relationship before she left Nashville and that maybe this was the most pain-free way of doing it. I was heartbroken, she was my first true love and it hurt to lose her. I wanted to hate her for it, but I couldn't. This life I have chosen as a troubadour is not for everyone, and It just wasn't for her. I wanted her to find happiness, even if it wasn't with me... and that is what inspired this song, "Baltimore"
  • For anyone who has ever been with someone who left them without warning... I present to you... "Baltimore".
