"A Mighty Lion"
Day #44/366
Dlawr: Photo a Day
Yesterday I got hired to do photos for a job I'm super stoked about. It is a bit out of my norm, so I had to rent some lenses I don't own. I got a 70-200mm. For those that don't know, that is a big zoom lens! You can literally photograph things up close from across the street. I never use anything like it. So, I took to Colonial today and started clicking away.
It's amazing how differently you can see the world when you break free from your regular boxes. I actually shot a ton of things I normally wouldn't. Eventually, I ended up at the local coffee shop for a latte. On my way home I saw this cat a few hundred feet away. I picked up my camera and he sprinted towards me. We had a minute together. I petted him and he jumped around.
At one point he lay down on the ledge. He was so happy to see me and it brought so much joy to my day! This brief interaction really helped me to slow down and appreciate the day. What a gift it is to go out and walk and take photos. Super grateful to literally see things from a different lens! If you're reading this, I hope you can find some little joys today.
My name is David. I am a portrait photographer from Orlando, Fl.
This project is a continuation of a series I started in 2022.
For all of 2024, I will be making and minting one photo a day for an entire year. It will be a mix of portraits, candids, and day-to-day life as I see it.
Unless otherwise noted, all images will be shot on my Canon Mark Iv and edited in Lightroom. All are minted on a custom Manifold contract. I've put my heart into this and hope you will enjoy it.
