"DO NOT QUIT"
Day #43/366
Dlawr: Photo a Day
Above all else, keep showing up. You might have to take a day off, a week, or even months, but if you're passionate about something, keep going after it.
I was driving home tonight and saw two guys skateboarding. I had yet to capture my photo of the day and I knew that I had to photograph them. I quickly pulled over, parked, and walked over to where they were. I said hi to one of them and told him about my project. I asked if I could shoot some images and followed him over to his friend.
They were gracious enough to show me their moves! Pictured here is Noah. Not pictured is his friend Esteban who was also skating. I could tell they were both super passionate about what they were doing. Noah literally had splints on his fingers from previous injuries. I asked him about it and told him how I recently saw someone run on a torn ACL. Esteban said, "That's some David Goggins shit!!" We chuckled and each went on our way.
I'm thankful for these encounters. One photo a day. 300 more plus days to go until I hit an entire year.
My name is David. I am a portrait photographer from Orlando, Fl.
This project is a continuation of a series I started in 2022.
For all of 2024, I will be making and minting one photo a day for an entire year. It will be a mix of portraits, candids, and day-to-day life as I see it.
Unless otherwise noted, all images will be shot on my Canon Mark Iv and edited in Lightroom. All are minted on a custom Manifold contract. I've put my heart into this and hope you will enjoy it.
