This is the first weekly airdrop for Before The Expire Vol. 1 holders. It is a motion graphic showing the first phase of development of the artwork for the project.
The artwork was hand drawn by @garrettarreguin (Grafik) and is a detailed look into individual elements that represent my hometown of Orange County, California.
Grafik is an Artist and Creative Director for both Volcom and Interscope Records and has collaborated with many acts including Machine Gun Kelly, 6LACK, King Lil G, FXXXXY, & more.
It was important to me to highlight his contribution to this project as the artwork is often times the first thing to catch our attention when discovering new music.
Grafik and I have worked together for years and he is responsible for the artwork on Aaliyah's Interlude, Have You Seen Her, Rain In June, California Girls, & Lead Me On.

I feel like as musicians/creatives we tend to only want to focus on our newest work. We create, fall in love, then we create and fall in love again and the cycle continues. It’s so easy to start believing that just because a song is old to us it must be old to everyone else. Then we end up sitting on these songs until the point that we feel like they’ve “expired”.
F*ck that.
I decided that I’m not going to do that anymore. Everything is coming out. Everything. And this is the format I want to use. An album with absolutely no concept. Just the music. The moments. The emotions. The experiences. Of course I will have more conceptual bodies of work, but in the event that too many of these songs are floating around on my hard drive with no home, I’m releasing another volume of Before They Expire.
For now here's Volume 1. Enjoy.
