Metaverse Television co-host, Daniel De Jean (pronounced Dee John), was born in Dijon, France on Aug 8th, 1988. His family descended from the 11th century Dukes of Burgundy, a family line of extraordinary wealth and power, and later as we shall learn, led to an unexpected pairing with his co-host, Chad Moonberg.
Childhood memories were centered around the times that little Danny would sit and play his accordion on a lily pad within the sacred fountains as admirers soaked-in the experience, always in awe of his talent. His command of art, learning, and science was unmatched at his age.
During his teen years, Danny developed his intellectualism, a love for berets and gourmet food (except for frog legs, of course), and a dislike, perhaps hate, for everything American. A romantic tryst with a French poodle at 16 led to a scandal, and his family disowned him, cutting him off from the DFF (De Jean Family Foundation) leaving it instead to the BFF (Burgundy Family Foundation).
Two days before his 17th birthday, he fled his comfy confines and arrived in Dubai but his holiday turned into the stuff of nightmares when a cyber criminal cleared out his life savings of $13,000 leaving him just 0.58 francs in his account which left him unable to afford a plane ticket out of Dubai. Making matters worse, the UAE fined him $3,800 USD for “overstay” fees as his visa expired.
He slept in hotel ponds for two months while scavenging scraps from hallway food trays. Managing to scam a passport from a certain Pepe someone, he changed his name to Danny DeGen (pronounced Dee John) and claimed Australian citizenship where he found his way back to France.. He decided to study journalism and made his big breakthrough as a newscaster and travel show host for LCI, the news channel and for TF1. Later that year, he also began hosting Voyages, LCI’s weekly travel show which introduced viewers to his slightly tangy, spicy style.
To their shock and the shock of many media observers, Danny politely declined the invitation to move up to news anchor, citing a fear of overexposure. Ironically, that very same week the French tabloid Voici featured pictures of him bottomless at the beach.
Danny was also shocked when he was offered an opportunity to co-host Metaverse TV with legendary host Chad Moonberg. Little did Danny know that Chad was also a distant relative of the Burgundys and sole recipient of the BFF. Now the bitter co-hosts go at it daily, with Danny plotting to recover what is rightfully his.
