12y/o web3 Fashion designer since she was 11. For KAREN11, the best outlet for expression as well as to serve as fuel for motivating herself has been the world of Fashion. Not only does she have a hyper sensibility, but she has also felt cramped at times due to feelings of suffocation from a number of barriers that presented themselves to her from an early age. She also struggled with depression due to social pressure. She overcame her depression by chanelling it into her artwork. It wasn’t until she watched the movie called Belle that she could come to the realization that, in the web3 world, anyone is able to express WHO they really are and to whatever ends they would like to be—surpassing any form of constraints of age, gender, body type, constitution, or any other physical boundaries.
In this collection, she expresses that Darkside is not the end of the world, but the beginning of the following story.
13 y/o junior high, aspiring to be a fashion designer. This collection is when 12 y/o.
I want to create fashion that allows people to unleash themselves, become their true selves, and live courageously. I started creating design sketches with this intention when I was 11 y/o, in the summer of 5th grade. Feeling frustrated with a school life where I couldn't be myself and disillusioned with the deceptions of the world, I fell into depression and stopped going to school. During this time of truancy, I found strength in fashion, which I had loved since childhood. Starting digital fashion design during my truancy, I found hope in life by presenting my creations to the world, and I was able to stand up again. In the virtual world, we can express ourselves freely without worrying about insecurities, gender, or the opinions of society and environment. Through fashion, I want to create a world where everyone can live freely, both in the virtual world and in reality. This is my hope.
