1/1 photograph by Burnish. Created as part of my "Gift of Time" art adventure experiment, for @techbubble who purchased the "Street Photography" adventure. ~~
This adventure was difficult for me. I'm an introvert and recovering shy person, and I feel so self-conscious with my camera out when it's not pointed at a landscape. I went to 3 different towns for this adventure, and wandered for hours watching people on a cold grey day. Most people aren't very interesting. What I did find compelling, however, were their dogs. While the people were quietly going about their business and in their own little worlds, the dogs were just happy to be there. Greeting each other, exchanging news, socializing, having a great time. The dogs were much more engaging than the humans, for sure.
This shot was the winner for me because of the juxtaposition of the reindeer in the window and the visiting dogs. As usual in my street photography, the human is not recognizable. I think what I've learned from this adventure is that for me, street photography is best done somewhere very busy, very interesting, or both. But that there's always something interesting if you wait and watch long enough.
Images from my "Gift of Time" adventures in October 2022, some of which were funded by my collectors choosing my photographic adventures.
