Who doesn't love a well-maintained old theatre? This one was built in 1932, the last of the grand movie palaces built in the San Francisco Bay Area. I wanted to capture that perfect moment of dusk, when the neon is lit but you can still see the sunset reflecting off the gorgeous deco curves of the building. The ridiculously colorful sunset is reflected in the windows of the more-modern building down the street. Alameda is a lovely, friendly small town with lots of gorgeous details, and this theatre stands proudly in the center of downtown.
