1/1 photograph by Burnish, created for the project in October 2022 when I took a month off my dayjob and embarked on photographic adventures. Some were chosen by collectors, and others I funded myself. This image was created on a collector-funded "Coastal Forests" adventure to the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in Half Moon Bay, CA.

The branches on this tree are spread out in silhouette across the foggy sky like arteries in our body, or forks and tributaries of a river. I love these kinds of natural structures, as they're so similar across a wide range of objects. The bright green of the plant climbing up this tree is what drew my eye- it was a bright hello on an otherwise gloomy desaturated morning, and my gaze followed it up to discover the tree branches high above.
