Inspired by axons – the incredibly thin "cables" which transmit electrical impulses from one neuron to another – Transmissions imagines the bodies chemical response when a performance, a piece of music and other such art resonates with us on a deep, cellular level.
Choreographed and performed by Charlotte Edmonds with music by Logan Nelson, this work combines motion captured dance and original music together with algorithmically created forms augmented with AI to celebrate the mysterious beauty and process of when a work of art leaves us altered.
Brendan Dawes is a UK based artist using generative processes involving data, machine learning and code, to create interactive installations, electronic objects, online experiences, data visualizations, motion graphics and physical sculptures.
A Lumen Prize and Aesthetica Art prize Alumni, his work has been featured in many exhibitions across the world including Big Bang Data in thirteen cities, three MoMA shows in New York together with his Cinema Redux work becoming part of the MoMA permanent collection in 2008.
