Rubidium is the chemical element with the symbol Rb and atomic number 37 of the first alkali metal in the chemical element group . It is a very soft, whitish-grey solid. Its atomic mass is 85/4678. Rubidium is highly reactive, with properties similar to other elements in group 1, such as very rapid oxidation in air. 85Rb is the only stable isotope of rubidium.
