While life may be a complex series of decisions, it is also a beautiful structure made of divergent yet identifiable paths. Though we may not see them overtly, the subtle nuances of life’s foundation would be nothing without the interactions we make with the other lives around us. Each new interaction is another beam added to the lattice of our life. // “Latticework” is a double-exposure of a building on Marnixstraat (constructed in 1005), near the Singelgracht waterway in Amsterdam. Taken during ADE 2017, it was also the first time I had ever been to Europe. The people I met on this trip, the food I ate, the events I attended all contributed to the photographer I am today. The beauty of centuries-old architecture reminds me every day of these moments and further instills my desire to see more, do more, and meet more to further expand my life’s latticework. // NOTE: This photo is part of MetaObscura's "The AE-1" project, originally taken in Amsterdam in 2017 on my Canon AE-1, double-exposed in-camera on Ilford FP4 Plus 35mm film.
