On one of our first nights in Cannes we walked through the streets and found a fabulous little restaurant for dinner. Sarah Gadon was sitting on the opposite side of the table from her Antiviral co-star Caleb Landry Jones, so she popped over to discuss the week. You can see my father’s hands on the left of frame, taking this photo from another angle. On this trip, Sarah taught me the stretches you do for your feet when you have to wear heels for ten days straight.
2012 Cannes Film Festival – For the first time in the festival’s history, a father and son, my father and brother, had films in competition the same year. The New York Times hired me to shoot a daily diary of the goings on at the festival between the two films, and I was given unprecedented access to places photographers aren’t usually allowed to go.
Un Certain Regard means "a certain glance" and is a section of the festival for films with unusual, non-traditional stories.
