Living Spaces is our first studio display. We wanted to present you with these home interiors first because we believe they earnestly convey the inviting style and aesthetic of this time period.

Humans of the 1950s were hopeful for the future. The 1900s had already served as a period of striking change in both technology and style. After an economic boom, many people imagined their future to be lived in a technologically advanced, comfortable, clean, and affluent world. As we know, this did not come to pass. Perhaps great strides in style and attitude await us in our true future. However in our eyes, this is a world that is not, but could have been.

The medium for the pieces in Living Spaces is mixed. We were most inspired by catalogs and clippings from the 50s that advertised or displayed space-age concept designs, such as furniture, cars, appliances, and clothes.
