I always perceive an almost intentional action coming from the heart of a supercell thunderstorm. Indeed storms are scientifically explained as being fueled by the energy of our sun and propelled by the junction of heat, wind, and water through merging weather fronts via jet streams. But placing myself directly underneath a dangerous supercell like this storm east of Oelrichs, South Dakota on June 6, 2020, I can almost hear the sound of a godlike voice speaking both wrath and grace as baseball-size hail begins to fall overhead. The heavy precipitation these violent storms bring are both a blessing to the lands and a curse to anyone who stands in its way. This emotional and spiritual connection I have to these aquamarine skies keep me on the road for thousands of miles a year with no plans to stop. I long to hear the voice again and again.
