Haupapa - Tasman glacier is our longest in New Zealand, stretching 27km. A 300-500 year old ice shelf is slowly tearing away and depositing icebergs into the Tasman lake.

Tasman Lake is one of a a very few lakes in the world with icebergs.

Haupapa is the Māori name given to this magical place, meaning... ice, frost and iceberg.

I chose this strong but minimal design due to the strength of mountain ranges, including our largest, Aoraki and his brothers in this area, so not to over power them, a central design fits with the surrounding natural layout.
