Scrambling around in the alpine risking life and limb all to chase this dream image that seemed to be unreachable. Being a landscape/adventure photographer takes dedication. Just as much so as any other craft. The dedication is what sets apart the average hobbyist and the lifelong artist.
RFP, a term used by alpinists, climbers, and many others determined to push on. Standing for "relentless forward progress". No matter how tough and slow it gets, just keep moving forward. This is what I keep in mind whenever I am in the middle of chasing an image that has required many failed attempts. No matter how many times I fail, I will go back relentlessly until the final image has been created. And this is exactly what I did for this piece.
In total I went to this spot 11 times before I got something I was happy with. Hiking 110 miles and climbed roughly 29,700ft in elevation gain for a dream. Marking the most effort I've ever put into an image, and I would do it all over again.
