The spring melt after a long cold winter is as warm and welcoming as my yellow dress. The temperatures are starting to rise, the lakes are opening up and the snow is slowly melting away from the mountain tops. Every spring I feel renewed, fresh with ideas and enjoy having the luxury of time spent creating outdoors rather than hurrying along to get out of the cold brought on by winter.

Colour theory as an artist is very important when I am creating my work. I strive for harmony amongst complementary colours and seek out water or skies at blue hour to complete my visions with the yellow dress. I love how yellow works with blue and compliments any scene adding vibrant contrast that makes you stop and stare.

They say that women long ago would tie yellow ribbons in their hair as they waited for their lover to return home from war.
