In "Borderline States," Konstantin "Zmogk" Danilov explores the profound relationship between emotional states and chromatic psychology. Drawing from the Bauhaus movement, Color Field painting, and Abstract Expressionism, this triptych of NFTs vibrantly articulates the interplay between expressed and suppressed emotions. The core of each painting focuses on a single, base color, reflecting the dominant emotion of the moment, while peripheral, fluorescent lines and spots fade in and out of view, symbolizing the emotions we relegate to the shadows of our consciousness.

How do you feel when staring at it?

Both discomforting and oddly relaxing, these contrasting elements challenge viewers to acknowledge the full spectrum of their complex emotional landscapes in a meditative fashion. This is further reinforced by the soundscape ZMOGK personally composed for each piece.

[Konstantin "Zmogk" Danilov]

Once upon a time, Konstantin Danilov chose a new name, a new life, and a new home. As an elite graduate of Cybernetics at Moscow’s prestigious State University, Danilov gave up a life of comfort to become an artist, trading the confines of black computer terminals for the freedom to paint colorful murals around the world. Since then, Danilov has been reborn as “Zmogk,” the enigmatic Russian programmer-turned-artist whose chosen name now adorns dozens of murals, walls, and galleries in just as many countries.

With his critically acclaimed blend of technical color and precision, “Zmogk” has been well received internationally, but in doing so, has left much behind. After the sellout of his first collection with Orangehare, Zmogk returns to Opensea with “Borderline States,” an abstract series that explores the relationship between color, psychology, and emotional well-being. On a more personal level, “Borderline State” is also reflective of an artist living life on the move, with color one of his most intimate companions.

In his second collaboration with Orangehare, Zmogk grapples with the concepts of borders and boundaries, and how they affect our emotional state.
