When the second plane hit I was staring at the TV thinking ‘we are at war’. It was a moment I’ll never forget. This piece documents one of the little known aspects to the situation, the art installation at the location of the World Trade Center locations. Very esoteric and eerie, these two light beams were first displayed six months after 9-11 and every year since on that date. It is officially part of the 9/11 Museum & Memorial. I felt as though this was the right way to document the event, through a visual representation of the sadness (blue) and weather. It is one of my favorite pieces in the genesis set for the NFTs of America™ collection.
