When the Pilgrims began probing the desolate wilderness, they found wild beasts and on their account “wild men”. Originally, the Pilgrims were hoping to reach Virginia, but landed in the much harsher Massachusetts area. Life in near Boston, proved difficult because of the weather restraints and adjustments to a new location were impossible without the help of the natives.

This piece is dedicated to these brave souls, and depicts a man on his way back to a humble dwelling after a hunt. This hunter would have believed in predestination and the deer to his left just a hint that he is on the right path.
