“nvm” is a song that was a catalyst for a pivotal change in my life. I was in nashville on a trip to write with my one of my nearest & dearest collaborators Chris Wallace & I was telling him how something deep within me was churning & calling for change & it felt like it was time for me to leave my home & everything that I’ve ever know to find something different out of life. Perhaps not only of intrigue and palpable vibrancy, but one more thing to challenge my comfort zone and see what that would elicit in me musically. We wrote & produced the skeleton of the song within an hour & finished it the next day. I spent that week with him in Nashville writing songs & exploring the city & when I got back to LA I immediately told my friends & family that I was trading the glitz & glamour of Hollywood to hopefully find peace, tranquility & renewed inspiration in Nashville. The boxes on the cover art are the actual boxes I then used to pack up all of my things. Very symbolic for me. Music has always been an intuitive way of bringing forth & expressing my my soul’s language. Music has a funny way of letting you speak your truest words before u may even consciously know them. “nvm” did that for me & will forever be an incredibly special song in my career for that reason.
