I’m a fan of Jackson Pollock. I see his paintings as records of the energy it takes to get paint to canvas. When I’m observing nature closely whether it’s flower petals in wind or river water in currents, my focus goes to the energy moving through compositions. To me, nature is performing drip paintings like Pollock. 'Kinetic Abstractions,’ attempt to capture that energy. I'm very gestural with my camera when I create them making often fifty or more attempts to reflect what I see before I land on a successful image.

Giving back : 10% of profits from primary sales will be donated to Ceiba.org, an NGO based in Quito Ecuador / Madison, Wisconsin. Ceiba is dedicated to education and tropical conservation. I am a dedicated conservationist. My commercial photography practice is dedicated to climate change mitigation. Part of that effort is creating artwork that represents the beauty of nature to raise awareness about what we stand to lose if climate change goes unchecked.
