What is lost in the pursuit of dreams is revealed on surfaces that elicit memory and imagination, like the sea, as heaven's mirror, glimmering with images from our personal and collective consciousness. We forsake to achieve, but we remember the forsaken. And some search for them in vain, attempting to reclaim what is forever cast away. This image is a digital composite of archival materials, produced collaboratively with my partner Ellen.

I am a photo-based artist, curator, and publisher born in Havana, Cuba, and currently living in Hudson, New York.

My work has been exhibited at the Center for Photography at Woodstock, Rayko Photo Center in San Francisco, The Tokyo Institute of Photography, and at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, where my photographs are in its permanent collection.

My art practice consists primarily of producing photographic publications on my own and in collaboration with other artists, usually of Latin American descent, such as myself. Through sequencing and design, I use photographs to generate fictional or quasi-fictional narratives. I am interested in imagined memories, constructed moments, and stories that may exist beyond the pictures.

This collection has no description yet.
