Sometime in August I was set to spend some time with my friend Talita who invited me to travel with her to Central Park in New York City. It was a beautiful and sunny Saturday and the park was filled with people. Talita informed me that we were going to do a light picnic with her friend Marina and that I should bring my paint supplies if I wanted. The day turned out to be such a peaceful and much needed time out of the house for me. I began by doing a small pencil study of the landscape around us, then I turned to Marina and asked if I could paint her portrait, to which she said yes. I haven't seen her since that day but she was a joy to be around.
