This is a 1 of 1 collectible token commemorating the first journalistic article I wrote and published about bitcoin under my real name. Hilariously, I used very simple and wrong math to project a bitcoin price of $476,190.47
It predates the launch of the Let's Talk Bitcoin! show and even predates The Daily Bitcoin show. At the time I was writing about additive manufacturing (3d printing), drone technology and Bitcoin, which had recently gone to $100 for the first time.
Personally I was highly skeptical, people had been trying to do "internet money" for years and a lot of suckers had lost everything believing the hype. But while that'd been a compelling argument when bitcoin was trading for pennies in 2011, when I saw it go past $100 I realized a threshold had been crossed, which resulted in two actions on my part...
First, I started actively looking for co-hosts for a bitcoin podcast. This is when I met Trace Mayer, Andreas M. Antonopoulos and a handful of others. They responded to my call for co-hosts and collaborators. There was so much going on and the only ways people were communicating were IRC or forums. There was a hole and I was going to fill it.
Second, I started telling people about it. This was the start of Let's Talk Bitcoin.
