The Gentleman -digital collaboration 2021

I’ve never painted on a picture before. Taken someone’s vibe like that and just riffed on it. The rearrangement in arrangement, creation as a part of destruction, my own 2 cents injected into the vibe to birth something new and vital. This time is rife for such things as it has not been for along time. Broken out of a mold, now, shattered rules lying about, trampled on mercilessly.

Creation in a moment. Finding a flow and skating it’s thin edge as it crashes over whatever is in front of me. Trust. Belief. A vision below conscious level rising to the surface with a splash, what needs to be felt, what needs to be expressed.

Thought brought to form, an idea alive in front of me.

Can I really explain why I put what where? No. Most of my time is spent being there for it. The definition of my language still only the barest whisper.

Why The Gentleman?

There is what I see and feel, and there is what you see and feel. Our paths may cross but I only desire to suggest a narrative, allowing to find your own story, not be told like everything, everyday. Find your own way with this one, enjoy it, or not.

Wessel

Abstract painting for me is the exportation of thoughts, feeling, moods, hopes, dreams, nightmares, whatever is in the moment, onto a canvas. I try not to hold back and flow through the movements the way they were meant to be, in flow.

Light, dark, lines, scrapes, splashes, flicks, flecks, and everything in between, before, and after. Understanding comes in the future, during is when the feeling happens, and the past is what it was.

This collaboration takes and blends all of that and throws all that understanding and feeling into a new matrix for reinterpretation, exportation and enjoyment.
