A piece of me from a different time in 2019. Before so much, after so much, a piece of my first big commitment to painting.
One hundred 16x20 canvases painted in sets of five. Some sponsored by people, some from my own pocket, but a drive forward into abstract painting, no matter what.
My rules, 5 colors, sponsor gets to chose some, but only five. Some early ones broke the rules before there were rules, but that's the way some art projects evolve, in the moment, once a flag has been planted.
To quote the book I wrote about the series:
When I get to a certain point in the painting process, there’s never a specific ‘when,’ I step back. As I look at the work, still wet, I get these strong, mixed emotions, a gut reaction. What was just paint becomes something more. Now there are parts I love, parts I hate, mistakes I see that no one will believe me when i point them out. Do I let it all go as-is satisfied with the positive, or follow the negative and push it further? My philosophy is that if there’s at least one thing I really like about a painting, I stop.
How that black cuts the planes before the back and fore-ground so clearly, I really loved that.
Wow, that was a strange time...as strange as now will be to the future.
Bringing my old work on to the blockchain and into this community is important to me, its a bridge, a driving force to evolve, again. From then to know was a distance, and today to tomorrow, the even greater. Exciting times.

Note:
Winner of auction for this NFT will also receive physical copy of actual painting. I hate to say this on the eternal chain, but shipping outside the united states will require an additional amount for shipping, unless the bids get crazy high...then, whatever.
16x20 acrylic on canvas. Double win!
