First Stone Island NFT artwork ever created. This is the most liked picture to date of my Stone Island archive page on Instagram: stoneislanddetail.
What better piece than this iconic parka from the Autumn/Winter 1999-2000 collection, created for the new millenium, to have as the first of many NFT artworks related to the Stone Island brand?
This piece was exhibited in 2000 at the Centre Pompidou in Paris as well as at the entrance of the 2012 "Stone Island 30" exhibition in Florence, celebrating the history of the brand. Needless to say that it is a real piece of art, that has found its place in the today new market of NFTs.
Here is the full description of the jacket found in the Stone Island Archivio book: "AW’999-‘000: Pure Metal Shell - Stainless Steel Parka 100% metal mesh applied to a black nylon jersey base. The polyurethane adhesive provides a light protection for the mesh. A Teflon treatment makes the garment water resistant. The metal mesh is a living material with the features of metallic materials when used untreated, and therefore they are subject to oxidation over time, losing its shine. The worn look creases and breaks that form on the surface are features that make each garment different from the next. A 100% bronze version of this item was also made."
