Back in 2016, I got an invite to go photograph mountain gorillas in Rwanda. I thought about it and said yes. Two weeks later, I was on the Virunga Mountains, way up high.
During my stay, I hung out with the experts from the Dian Fossey Fund, the superheroes who look after the gorillas. Finding the gorillas was tough – I trekked through the jungle for hours. Sometimes I wondered if I'd made a mistake. But when I finally met the gorillas, all that hard work felt worth it. It was tiring but amazing. Being there, taking their pictures, is a memory I'll always treasure. As a photographer, it was one of my top experiences.
