Film strips inspired the concept form. It is after all the symbol for the captured images of our memories in a physical form. Close together they form a memory or a fragment of time if it is a film strip. It's also positioned as a window or portal or even two doors. A symbol of the past, present, and future. The way our minds have come to be able to process the Eternal Now.
When I named this collection I was of course thinking of Daft Punk. For the past 10 years I've been listening to "Fragments of Time" and thinking about doing this but I hadn't figured out how—until now.
Thinking about the light in the environment when important events happen in my life. And I’ve been thinking about time and color and the way they connect to each other.
When I recall the color and the light I see life from another angle and a colorful dimension.
Translating that light into this piece is my way of recording this date forever.
