Every year since 1998 I've tried to render something festive for the holidays. Sometimes it's something totally new, sometimes I adapt an existing scene.
In 2012 I chose to adapt three of my most popular scenes for the Holidays. "At World's Edge" was a favorite render from 2010 but I had only created day versions. For this night version I chose to use my Vue ecosystem Christmas-light technique and the contrast is striking.
A huge theme of Christmas, for me, is lighting up the encroaching darkness. I feel this piece embodies that theme more than any of my other renders.
