growing up, my dad taught me to learn from the streets + the shelves over the numbers + the news. he taught me that moderation is the key — and it doesn't always look like it seems.

he always took the “scenic route” to grandma’s house on 8 mile in detroit. we took the people mover downtown + walked through the green lights in the middle of the streets ("traffic lights are suggestions")

in Paul’s world, there’s always a reason to stop + “someone i'd like you to meet.” introducing me to employees at kroger, bartenders in detroit, priests at parties. even the cops when he got pulled over picking me up from latch-key. it worked though — for better or worse Paul knows what he’s doing.

and knows how to have fun. always calling up his friends + stopping by unannounced. making people smile when they didn't know they needed to + pointing them in the right direction every time.

a self proclaimed "odd dude" and a favorite + father figure to my friends too.

thank you for doing you, Dad 🥁⚖️✌
