Waking up in the Dolomites is quite something else and it had been a dream of mine to explore and hike these incredible mountains since I first ventured into landscape photography.
In 2018 my dreams were realised when I travelled solo to Italy to experience the Italian Alps for myself and see with my own eyes just what a feat these mountains were.
On this particular morning a couple of friends and I woke at around 3.30am to begin the hike to this view point which looked towards the Cima Cadin mountains.
I had seen images from this location online but nothing could prepare me for just how majestic it would be to actually stand in front of such a perfect scene created by mother nature.
My friend in this image was absolutely dwarfed by the surrounding mountains and it really showed me just how small we are in the presence of such vast creation and how we need nature much more than it needs us.
