Did you know that Amsterdam is also known as Venice of the North?

This is of course because Amsterdam, just like Venice has a massive amount of city canals that you can traverse to get a fully immersive experience of this beautiful city.

Sure, the boats are not as nice as in Venice, but on these boats, you can actually party and have a drink with your friends while exploring Amsterdam.

The city has more than 100 kilometers (62 mi) of “grachten” better known as canals. Less commonly known is that Amsterdam has around 90 Islands and 1500 bridges. The three main canals (Herengracht, Prinsengracht, and Keizersgracht) were dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age. They form concentric belts around the city known as the Grachtengordel.

In 2010 these canals and the Jordaan were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

So if you want to experience Amsterdam the best way, make sure to hop on a boat and enjoy the view.
