Slice number 6 is called Old Amsterdam for a reason. This location is one of the oldest parts of Amsterdam. The bridge from which I made this photograph is actually called the Oudekerksbrug (Old Church Bridge). This area is very close by the red light district and in fact, this is the exact same bridge you walk over in the new Call of Duty mission in Amsterdam. This is not my most favourite location of Amsterdam (this is due to it usually being overrun with drunk and/or high tourists), but sometimes it's a bit quieter and then it's really nice to walk here. I especially like how all the old buildings in the background converge and the Basilica of St Nicolas towers from behind. I don't know, to me it's a classic old Amsterdam view. Unlike most of my photographs, this one is not as colorful or vibrant. I choose this photo on purpose to be part of the collection because Amsterdam is not always this lush, vibrant, and warm city. It can be pretty grey and cold and sometimes even bleak. This is a more depressing side of the city which I can also appreciate from time to time. Slice 6; Old Amsterdam is a more unique piece in the entire collection since it deviates from the rest in terms of style.
