Population of Indian Rhino has increased to around 3,500 from the brink of extinction near the beginning of the 20th century. The recovery of the greater one-horned rhino is among the greatest conservation success stories in Asia. Unfortunately, it is still listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.
