Polarity: the concept that everything in the universe is made up of two opposing forces or energies; yin and yang. These forces are believed to be in a state of constant interaction and balance, and they are thought to be the foundation of all things.

Yin; feminine, the receptive, the passive, the intuitive, and the emotional.

Yang; masculine, the active, the expressive, the logical, and the rational.

Achieving balance and harmonization of such opposing energies within oneself to achieve a state of inner peace and wholeness, is key.

It also describes the balance of energy between the physical and the spiritual, and between the self and the divine.

It is believed that by achieving balance in all of these areas, one can reach a higher level of consciousness and spiritual enlightenment.
