Hold your breath and count to ten.

The Shallows is a series of photographs taken in Miami in September 2022. Two beautiful sisters moving in tandem with the water was the inspiration for this project.

This was my first time shooting underwater and I instantly fell in love with the process - snorkel and all. Immersed in water while creating art felt incredible - there is a slowness and a stillness there. Taking the luxury to breathe away - every second counts. My thoughts were saying; empty your mind, be formless, fluid, and weightless - like the flow of water.

I plan to roll out the entire underwater collection in three parts or “depths”. The Shallows, The Reef, and The Deep. I wanted The Shallows to have an analog look and feel, as it was my first time shooting underwater. The Shallows, where the ocean begins, is warm and scattered with light - The place where I begin my underwater photography journey.
