Moonsaber is a composite moonrise photo taken in Yorktown, Virginia in September 2019. As the moon rises, it changes color due to the atmosphere being different thicknesses at the horizon. It starts out a deep red, followed by orange, to yellow, to white. This composite was shot using a Canon EOS 6D, Tripod, and Intervalometer. The photos were taken 15 seconds apart as the moon rose. The images were stacked in Starstax and blended with a blue hour photo taken earlier the same night. I love the color transition and the science behind this photo.
