This series collects the colours of the scenery while walking through the forest in Minoh Park when I participated in the Minoh no Mori Artwalk. I choose the motif from the streets and landscapes I actually walked and the activities of the people in those towns, to show "what's painted is something that is in close contact with the artist's real life (= world = landscape)".

I use the way of processing the pictures into mosaics with digital and paint it using paints with analog. I tried "painting" in a broad sense with it, in which I was conscious of the whole forest, with the concept of returning the colour I collected by walking to the large canvas of the forest through my hands.

Local people and tourists who are not here to enjoy art also see this "colour" as part of the artwork, but it asks what they will see through it. I hoped that the viewers would meet the beauty of the Minoh Forest which is "more than a tourist spot", what artist thinks, and art itself. After being cut off with the words "How bad it is" and displayed a large sign "This artwork is on show now", I created this work comprehensively as "beauty" with viewers' ability of perceiving the world and its situation which can only be seen through actual contact to it.

Walking Project by MIKI WANIBUCHI collection image

It has the important aspect for me to walk and take photos in order to “touch the boundary” between inner myself and the outer world. My work starts from this point primitively, speaking of very personal reasons.

I take pictures of where I go and what I see, then process it into mosaics, extract colours from them, and faithfully paint dots with it on canvas.

All NFTs here are the important work that form the basis of my creation.
