Marooned is a feeling I get when I find myself alone and at peace in the desert, almost as if I've intentionally stranded myself. Out there, in the wild, the storm pass no judgement. It offers no commentary, but only brings respite with its refreshing rains and soothing winds.
Quite often, I'd rather be marooned in the desert than face a staring eye.
It's amazing how easily it is to find ourselves giving in to complacency and grinding daily through an ordinary routine of work, eat, sleep. I also accepted a routine of hiding my true self before the world, and it further eroded any hopes of chasing my passion. Eventually I found myself at a crossroads that only offered one road to healing, choosing to live as my authentic self. Through support from a few family and friends, I was able to see the world through a sort of technicolor eye. I'm trans, but I'm also a parent, a spouse, a guitar player, a public speaker, and a photographer who wants to show the world that life can be as extraordinary as the skies I pursue. Welcome to my world of technicolor.
