Deep in the woods, lived the witches, in a castle built by magic. Every equinox they danced in the moonlight, heralding the arrival of spring. The witches were goddesses, disguised as humans, for they wanted to see if the humans warranted their boons. They were vices personified, the judge, jury and the executioner. They had fury in their veins, kindness in their hands, they were serene and yet seeing the truths hidden. They waited to see what the humans reaped from what they sowed. The humans mocked them, believing their truths to be lies, but they never tried to make them aware, they never tried to make them believe. The goddess waited for the day of reckoning when the deeds of humans were to be balanced on the scales. So they danced with abandon, never oblivious, with truth brimming in their veins.
