the moment of inspiration is often powerful, sometimes mundane. and sometimes completely out of left field. i had never pondered the color of gravity. until i read a tweet asking "why is gravity not a color?". that question became the first line of the piece, my immediate reaction, the second. and the poem itself became an attempt to understand my own conviction, that yes, indeed, gravity is a color. i wonder: do you agree?
